Erin Mallon and Joe Arden provide a seamless experience as they depict the romance between baseball pitcher Jaxon Prescott and Macy Walker. The pair have a plan: A marriage of convenience will help Macy retain custody of her sister and allow Jaxon to gain a more stable reputation. Both narrators are equally adept at voicing the opposite sex as they alternate delivering the story. Listeners hear the bitchy tones of Macy's scheming stepmother and feel the petulance of her teenage sister. Jaxon's brothers' masculinity also comes through with full force.
