A VINEYARD KILLING

Earphones Award Winner

by | Read by Tom Stechschulte

Mystery & Suspense • 5.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

It’s March in Martha’s Vineyard, and the only inhabitants are the year-rounders. When an unscrupulous real estate developer tries to grab properties for a fraction of their worth, two of his executives are attacked, one fatally. The Vineyard residents become the main suspects, including retired Boston cop J.W. Jackson. He uses some sly methods to track down the killer before anyone else, including himself, dies. Tom Stechschulte’s J.W. is both heroic and comic. Stechschulte is also a master at changing genders and personalities; he excels at portraying J.W.’s wife, offbeat (not too bright) locals, and an irascible police chief. Not a note is out of place to distract the listener from reveling in this terrific addition to the Vineyard whodunits. M.T.B.
