PENNY POLLARD'S LETTERS

by | Read by Rebecca Macauley

Children Ages 10+ • 1.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1984

Penny Pollard is a delightfully clever girl who says what she means without hesitation. When her pregnant mother needs to rest, Penny is sent to stay with an elderly aunt. Naturally, she's bored and outspoken (particularly in her letters). She meets and dislikes stuffy Alistair and a neighbor's baby. She also suffers through her aunt's classical music and ballet. However, as she adjusts, she teaches Alistair (Al) how to defend himself, shows the baby how to crawl, and even appreciates classical music. It's fun for listeners to hear Polly grow as she has new experiences. A wonderful choice for all maturing kids! S.G.B. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 04/ JAN 05]
