A ritzy Pebble Beach spa is the focus of Clark's mystery. The horrible death of actress Leila brings her sister, Elizabeth Lange; her sister's fiancé, Ted Winters; along with greedy lawyers and sleazy business affiliates to the spa. If one can suspend a certain amount of disbelief, listening to this production is most engaging as one enjoys the California weather and upscale setting. Katherine Kellgren does an excellent job with the women's voices, describing their emotions and terrors with just slight changes in tonality and emphasis that register no force or overstatement. She is an accomplished reader who imbues the book with added interest and believability. B.H.B. (c) AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/ MAR 05]
