THE EMPTY HOUSE

Vacationing in Cornwall, Virginia Keile rediscovers a lost love and bonds with her children after the death of her husband. This realistic romance, in which the main character finds the strength to redefine her life, is well served by Lindsay Duncan's narration. Her elegant voice is ideal for Virginia; she also ably produces regional accents and male voices. Duncan's performance enhances a story that might, in print, be viewed as wanting more depth; her characterizations and warmth add the needed elements.
