Afraid she'll be suspect number one since it's not her first body discovery, Greer uses her research and community networking acumen to identify the killer. Narrator Madeleine Lambert effects a monotone for Greer's first-person point of view. Happily, that understated delivery is tempered by her vibrant portrayals of the rest of the quirky upstate New York community. In addition to the suspense of the story, Greer's surprising turn from cosmetics executive to public librarian adds intrigue. The depiction of the library workplace is commendably realistic.
