HOW I BECAME A PIRATE

What could be more fabulous for a young adventurer than to see a pirate ship appearing over the horizon? When this happens to Jeremy Jacobs, his parents are oblivious as their son sets sail with the pirate crew to help bury treasure. Jeremy is a quick study to the ways of pirates and even shares a few soccer tips with the crew, but he is more than dismayed with the ship's bedtime routine. Heller is a fine marauder. His understatement and deliberate pacing belie the raucous action and add to the humor. He relishes the "aargs" and "me hardies" of Captain Brave Beard. He shares Jeremy's indignation that there is no shipboard library and his delight in knowing where the treasure is. All this and Jeremy is back in time for soccer practice! A.R.
