ELEANOR, ELATONY, ELLENCAKE, AND ME

by | Read by C.M. Rubin

Children Ages 4-6 • 30 min. • Unabridged • © 2003

Little Eleanor's family has a variety of nicknames for her, all of which point to different aspects of her personality--she's tough, so Papa calls her "Punch"; she's stylish, so Nana calls her "Elle," like the fashion model, and so on. This is not so much a story as a playful riff on the name Eleanor in particular and a whimsical rhyme-filled romp on nicknames in general. This story is both written and read by C.M. Rubin and will especially please any Eleanors listening. Rubin is an enthusiastic narrator who seems to enjoy reading this, and if she occasionally lands hard on the odd word or veers into silliness in order to make a rhyme work, younger listeners are unlikely to care.
