SAWYER'S RUN A (Mostly) Fictional Appalachian Trail Adventure

Narrator Jack de Golia outdoes himself with this mountain-climbing adventure featuring a man and his dog as they tackle the Appalachian Trail. De Golia excels with delivering vibrant descriptions of scenery, food, and sleeping under the stars; in addition, he captures amusing "conversations" between the self-deprecating canine "dad" and the smart, enthusiastic dog, who is named Sawyer. Equally well rendered are an array of trekkers, particularly Southern Comfort, a charming woman with a feisty manner. After an unfortunate accident, dad and dog must evade a deranged park ranger who's determined to hurt Sawyer. Things heat up as Southern Comfort and other hikers help them escape from the park.
