JASON'S GOLD

Fifteen-year-old Jason Hawthorn treks from Seattle to Dawson City in 1897, as part of the famous Klondike Gold Rush. The grip of “gold fever,” the frenzy of the boom towns, the opportunistic behavior of many, and the thrill and misery of adventure are all woven into Hobbs’s tale. Boyd Gaines is loyal to the story. The commitment and spirit of the hero shine through as Gaines keeps the listener wanting to hear the next chapter and the next. In an author’s note, Hobbs shares his preparation for this novel, which substantiates all that Gaines has brought the listener to understand about the character of Jason and this historical period.
