AMELIA EARHART

by | Read by Susan Van Dusen

Biography & Memoir • 11.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2000

Susan Van Dusen reads this biography, which explores many of the forces that drove Earhart to fly, as well as the events leading up to her last flight. Those who are interested in Earhart or in the history of early attempts to popularize and commercialize aviation in the U.S. will appreciate the attempts to show the complexity of her character and personality. As a general matter, Van Dusen does not move beyond a somewhat flat reading of the book, although there are sections where she moves a bit more into a narration mode. The editing is a little uneven, but in general the production is easy to listen to and follow. J.E.M. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/MAR 01]
