Dr. Philipp Schott shares heartwarming stories--peppered with educational facts--of being a family pet vet in Winnipeg, Canada. Narrator Geet Arora delivers Schott's conversational style and amps up the crazy situations and biological oddities with a nonstop energy that proves tremendously entertaining. Schott's vignettes range from examining a hedgehog that rolls up when stressed (named "Prickles," of course) to learning to make a sheep sit. He also informs listeners about the importance of liver treats. Arora's comic timing is excellent, but he appropriately settles down for serious conversations about euthanasia, keeping cats indoors to save the bird population, and the corporatizing of veterinary clinics. Arora's performance ensures that Schott's gratitude for his patients and their owners comes through clearly. A.B. © AudioFile 2022, Portland, Maine [Published: APRIL 2022]
