DR. FELL'S CABINET OF SMELLS

As a young teen, Kit is concerned about smell and uses deodorant to make sure he doesn't "offend." But when he meets Juniper, who finds pleasure in ALL smells, his life changes forever. Susan Gates presents a very different perspective on smell for adolescents. Narrator Nigel Lambert is splendid as each character, and his Dr. Fell, with his sinister laugh, is awesome. Ancient and modern words, such as "poxy knave" and "craven coward," are perfectly recreated. Also clever is the old factory (or olfactory) where Juniper and her mother live.
