AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP

As a young man, Bill George changed his abrasive social style and overcame the loss of his mother and his fiancée to eventually find his calling as the thoughtful CEO of a respected medical supply company. An articulate person, he’s written an excellent leadership primer, a developmental perspective on the importance of leading with one’s own style and within one’s own values. Leaders need purpose, values, heart, relationships, and self-discipline to be truly successful, he states, with simple and only occasionally platitudinous language. The reality of his personal story is gripping enough to offset the telling, which is rendered too slowly and self-consciously by Jack Garrett.
