A female police profiler with an abundance of issues (she's lost her job, her house, and her ward because of alcoholism) is called back to work a serial murder case. Someone is dismembering young girls with an MO reminiscent of events in Edgar Allan Poe stories. The profiler tracks the lunatic with help from an autistic young man. While Kathe Mazur has a clear, winsome voice and a straightforward manner, her narration doesn’t generate excitement--at least, in this performance. She seems to concentrate her efforts on delivery rather than on character development--a style that might be more suited to nonfiction.
