This is a new-generation audio drama. Louis L'Amour's son and longtime audio producer, Beau L'Amour, brings listeners this fully dramatized and very human story of an aging outlaw (make that gentleman of opportunity) who hopes to bequeath his ill-gotten kingdom to his adopted son. Thirty-five actors and location recordings of horses, trains, raging streams, and gunshots give this adapted novel a lush and naturalistic sound. Terrance Mann's understated and sympathetic performance as narrator and a terrific original musical score by John Phillip Shenale tie the dramatic scenes together seamlessly.
