THE THIEF OF WORLDS

Marcus Montgomery narrates this sprawling epic fantasy. Named for the storm raging when he was born, preteen Hurricane has always felt an affinity with the air. Shortly after all wind mysteriously stops blowing, Hurricane embarks on a headlong quest across worlds to recover a stolen magical artifact that will bring back the breeze. Montgomery voices Hurricane with the excited awe of an ordinary kid who is swept into mythical events. Though Hurricane is Chicagoan through and through, his mother has a softly enchanting Mississippi accent. Montgomery's narration of the people, creatures, and gods Hurricane meets in parallel worlds are entertainingly theatrical, sometimes verging on screechy or hilariously low-pitched.
