THE BOY WHO TAUGHT THE BEEKEEPER TO READ

This collection of short stories is engaging and thoughtful, offering characters with whom any listener can identify and episodes dazzling in their simplicity and quiet drama. Perhaps the most memorable is the title story, a delicately crafted tale that stays with the listener long after its end. Anne Dover and Christopher Kay are splendid performers, empathetic and involved in the characters’ development. Dover's precise voice is melodic and clear, shifting sweetly from one character to another; Kay's strength is in the deep resonance of his voice and the skill with which he brings Hill’s descriptions to life.
