A full cast of outstanding narrators, led by Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn, capture the fun and heartbreak in this sparkling imagining of what might have happened to Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Buckley shines as Lydia, bringing out her rage at her profligate husband and her enduring love for the family that has turned its back on her. Flynn captures the roguish Wickham--exasperating but charming nonetheless. The rest of the cast add pitch-perfect renderings of snooty townspeople, stalwart military officers, and Lydia's initially frosty family. While Jane Austen purists may be distressed by Page's bold interpretation of the irrepressible Lydia Wickham, others will revel in this fresh and exciting portrait of a woman who is taking charge of her life.
