During the Battle of the Bulge near the end of WWII in Europe, 350 American soldiers, thought to be Jewish, were captured and sent to a concentration camp named Berga in eastern Germany. Their cruel and inhumane treatment--being starved and worked to death--mirrored that of other Holocaust camps. Heinrich Himmler and Adolf Eichmann make cameo appearances. Michael Prichard maintains the somber atmosphere of the depressing narrative, but his brisk and animated style gives the story the energy it deserves. Prichard's easy-to-understand speaking voice and facility with foreign phrases make him an ideal selection to bring a little-known chapter of history to listeners' attention.
