FLESH AND BLOOD

by | Read by Peter Whitman

Mystery & Suspense • 10 hrs 15 min. • Unabridged • © 1992

Private investigator Frank Clemons finds more than he expects when hired to find the nearest relative of murdered couturier Hannah Karlsberg. He gets caught up in Hannah's life story, which starts in the garment district's sweatshops and ends on the Upper West Side, with a mysterious interlude in Colombia. British narrator Peter Whitman handles Jewish and Eastern European accents well but makes the Alabama-born Frank sound slow-witted and grudging. Annoyingly, the narrator retains Frank's implausible southern accent beyond his actual dialogue, but the story itself is very suspenseful. N.B.H. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN 92]
