SIX MONTHS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD The Treaty of Versailles and the Road to World War II

by | Read by Margaret MacMillan

History • 7.5 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2003

Professor Margaret MacMillan, of the University of Toronto, presents 14 lectures about a momentous period in the modern world. The production examines the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 in great detail. There are also several lectures examining the impact of the conference on various countries and regions, such as Germany, Poland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and the Middle East. MacMillan has an erudite voice and clearly communicates great enthusiasm for the period. At times her excitement makes her pace a little rapid, but that's the only defect in her presentation. She convincingly argues that much of world history after 1919 was influenced by the events of that fateful year. M.L.C. © AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE/JULY 05]
