THE ICE-CREAM MACHINE Totally Fizzbombed

One might think that the meaning of the word "nemesis" is far beyond a young person. Not so in Julia Bertagna's zany escapade featuring a goat, a lost ice cream truck imbued with magical powers that date back to the time of the Incas, and the two families that claim ownership. Along the way, more than one character receives the fate he or she deserves. Sophie Aldred's energy is hard to beat. Her enthusiasm for the eccentric story abounds, topped only by her characterization of the ancient and incorrigible Pa Periwinkle and the flabbergasted and imperious Mrs. Snark.
