THE WIDOWMAKER Turnback Creek

Hired gun John "The Widowmaker" Locke is teamed with an old pal, an alcoholic ex-lawman with a shaky gun hand, to safeguard an incoming gold shipment in a Montana mining town. The question is not whether someone will try to rob the gold, but who will try it first. Richard Ferrone's gravelly intonations have made him the top gun of private eye narrations, and here they prove just as effective in the Old West. But intermittently he seems to be marking time until he gets to the good stuff. This wouldn't be so noticeable were he not fully engaged elsewhere.
