The three tales on this CD bring three friends, Julie, Eric, and Neal, back to the underground world of Droon. Abbott's fantasy series-each book a new fantasy adventure-is just right for elementary readers, and Oliver Wyman's narration adds to the package. With slight but noticeable differences in the kids' voices, Wyman uses short, almost clipped, pacing to convey the immediacy of the plot, and how passionately involved these kids are in the events on Droon. Wyman paces the story well, building the tension in the simple but satisfying plots, exaggerating the villains, and successfully emphasizing the scenes that lead to the next story in the series.
