From stockholder reports to memos, emails, sales presentations and speeches, there's not enough plain talk in most business communication, say these three consultants. The audio covers every conceivable type of verbal B.S. and illustrates it with a mixed bag of examples--some that ring true and other others that sound flat and obvious. Though the basic thinking is sound, writing that tries to be cute reduces the ideas to a series of self-conscious vignettes and platitudes. Maybe it's this quality that wore out the ordinarily intelligent-sounding Alan Sklar, who inexplicably misses timing cues and contributes to the sophomoric quality of the writing with over-the-top expressiveness.
