TRIXIE TEMPEST AND THE GHOST OF ST. AUBERGINE'S

Trixie Tempest lives up to her name as she alienates a local car factory and its many employees by planning a "Save the Planet" concert. The delightful Kate Sachs deftly presents such aptly named characters as Father Befuddle and Teacher Headache. But the very best is Trixie's grandma, a witch whom she consults when the Green Hand of Doom descends on the school. The story is full of humorous old-fashioned words appropriate to the characters. The conclusion is "very extremely impressive" (as Trixie would say) while remaining believable. This unusual story gives its audience laughs while delivering examples of compromise and team-building.
