DOMINIC'S DISCOVERY

Gervase Phinn is a rarity, an engaging author and an appealing narrator. An additional delight is his infectious humor. Dominic eagerly awaits his school trip to Thundercliff Bay; however, he is, as his Gran proclaims, "accident prone." This tendency gets him into trouble at school, and soon he is in danger of not going on the trip. Phinn expertly captures the world of school kids, their competitions, battles, and the vast differences between pompous Mr. Risley-Newsome and endearing Miss Pruett, who gives her students just the right combination of tartness and tolerance.
