Here in minute detail and plain language Watts, who earlier won attention for probing the life and influence of Walt Disney, unfolds his take on the farm boy turned industrialist. Narrator John H. Mayer has an amiable personality and a well-modulated voice. He reads with comprehension at an even pace but is able only partially to compensate for the author's sometimes tedious propensity to digress and to dwell on minutiae.
