Earphones Award Winner

Fiction • 7 hrs. 50 min. • Unabridged • © 1992

Listening to this early 20th-century English farce is like listening to a comic opera, such as Mozart's "Cosi Fan Tutte." The adenoidal style adopted by actor Jeremy Sinden fits well with the plot. However, the American accent he uses for playboy Tipton Plimsoll is neither authentic nor consistent. The cross-gender articulation is good, and this is very important to a boy/girl farce. The sound quality is excellent. The aural version of this book has to be more entertaining than the written version. J.D.N.
