Much of the richness of this trilogy lies in the complex relationships between humans and dragons in a time when their worlds seem destined to collide and create widespread destruction. Although a listener could start with this final installment of the Dragonvarld Trilogy, it would doubtless be more enjoyable to begin at the beginning. Suzanne Toren is a powerful narrator who has a command of her characters and the drama of the plot. Her characterizations are subtle and multilayered, and draw upon the complexities of the characters. Toren's pace is steady and intense, and is balanced by the judicious use of a more relaxed cadence. J.E.M. © AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/ MAR 06]
