A BRIEF LUNACY

Uneasiness hovers like approaching storm clouds as long-married Carl and Jessie Jensen, parents of a schizophrenic adult daughter, open their home to Jonah, a strange yet appealing young man who claims he was robbed of his camping gear and needs shelter for the night. As Jonah become increasingly menacing, the Jensens are forced to plumb the depths of what has passed for truth in their lives. Melissa Edris does a credible job as Jessie, sounding distracted and unfocused, a woman with much on her mind, and Paul Michael gives a strong, touching performance as Carl, revealing a dark secret from his past as their terrifying encounter with the deranged Jonah reaches its climax.
