IRIS AND WALTER Lost and Found

Guest has created another gentle chapter book featuring the two young friends Iris and Walter. This story, about the irritations of younger siblings, will ring true for young readers. Iris has a little sister, Rose, who gets into everything. Rose is a threat to Iris's button necklace and borrowed harmonica alike. Barbara McCulloh's voice is gentle, too, and a good match for the series. McCulloh paces her narration to match the new reader's ability, while managing not to slow down too much for older listeners. The story is pleasant for anyone to listen to because the experienced McCulloh has such a nice full voice and an animated yet level reading style.
