In her fiction debut, Jenkins creates a fascinating mystery featuring Sterling Glass, a Virginia appraiser who is hired to assess items that appear to be stolen. Unbeknownst to Sterling, she has stumbled upon a theft ring that preys on the elderly using the most unlikely accomplices. Linda Stephens's narration is enjoyable as she brings both Virginia and New York City inhabitants to life. She remains thoroughly involved in the story while delivering credible regional accents. Sterling travels to New York and back, enjoying her job and stumbling into danger every step of the way. If you find antiques interesting, you'll love this book.
