BOO HISS

In the quirky world of Skary, Indiana, there is a two-headed snake on the loose, a soccer field that appears out of nowhere, and residents who look to an inept mayor to solve their problems. Michael Taylor has a solid narrative style; however, the sound quality of this production is somewhat tinny, and the acoustics are sharp to the ear. The story is difficult to keep track of, and the listener has to attend carefully as there are no pauses in chapter transitions. Taylor characterizes the excitable townsfolk well, but this story of urban sprawl and small-town antics may be easier to read in book form than to listen to.
