THE WORST WITCH SAVES THE DAY

Mildred Hubble, a young witch at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches, is determined to do better in her schooling this year. Alas--her hair-growth spell goes awry, her cat, Tabby, is uncooperative, and she breaks her broomstick--so it looks like she's the school's worst witch again. This story is greatly enhanced by the narrative talents of Miriam Margolyes. Margolyes has a cheerfully hearty voice that may be familiar to those who enjoy British films; her enjoyment in reading this story makes listening to it even more fun. Margolyes enthusiastically embraces the challenge of distinguishing among the many voices of the schoolgirls and their teachers, and that energy also draws listeners in.
