Professor Stephen Prothero of Boston University gives us an introduction to the major religions of Asia and how they have been transplanted to the United States. Included with the lectures is a well-produced course guide that has illustrations and sources for further study. Again, these are lectures and, as far as that goes, Prothero does a splendid job. He has an understated but infectious enthusiasm for his subject that makes one want to listen and find out more. He is confident with his material, as one would expect, and has the ability to make his lecture seem as though he is talking with listeners rather than reading into a microphone.
