Stanley McGeagh's presentation of the hard-working Mr. Tipkins--a common wood elf with an amazing knack for magic--is outdone only by his smarmy performance of Rathalorn of the Silverwood High Elves. Rathalorn, an uncommonly untalented high-born elf, would rather purloin magic than work for a living. When two human children enter as Tipkin's students and allies, they manage to save the day with their small gifts and quick thinking. McGeagh's accent may stump young or less patient listeners, but most will be avidly waiting for the next entry in the School of Magic series.
