Justine Eyre relishes charming chatterbox Lizzie Nichols, whose tendency to talk first, think later lands her in trouble on a journey from her Midwest college to a French chateau. En route she drops an English boyfriend who is all accent and no substance. Portraying the Texas twangs of the bridal party at the chateau and the charming French host, Eyre's accents are on target. Cabot's rhapsodic scenic descriptions and clichés are deftly handled with tongue tucked firmly in cheek. Despite the young fan club induced by the author's PRINCESS DIARIES, Lizzie's actual sex life, and her endless references to it, make this a novel for an adult audience.
