The fury of Alistair Fury is unlimited because he must take his exams without having studied. He's so unprepared that he thinks Shakespeare invented the globe. Worse, he tells others that his granny died and his parents are divorcing. And his warring aunt and uncle write notes to communicate with each another. Who but the offbeat Jamie Rix could create these characters, portrayed with gusto by narrator Robert Llewellyn? Rix uses lots of wordplay and "groaner" humor such as, "there's a sense of humor failure," which Llewellyn energetically delivers.
