THE REASONABLE ART OF FLY FISHING

by | Read by Michael Taylor

Contemporary Culture • 7 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2006

Fly fishing, like many leisurely pursuits, requires a fair amount of understanding before you begin. Terry Mort's primer on this simple pleasure casts a line into a river of knowledge and reels it in. In voice reminiscent of P.J. O'Rourke, narrator Michael Taylor doles out the necessary details. Using a steady, folksy delivery of key points, humorous metaphors, and literary references, he discusses the various aspects of the sport. The discussion covers biology, entomology, and ecology, which are interesting, though the more technical aspects can be dry. But if you have visions of casting your line, this is the book you need to start. M.B. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 07]
