CLOSING COSTS

Lucinda Wells, high-pressure real estate agent in Manhattan, knows that the best indicator of social status is one's home. She uses that knowledge to ferret out clients' ambitions to further her own career. In this novel the characters buying and selling real estate have lives that intersect through Lucinda's machinations. Susan Denaker nails the plethora of New York accents represented by the wide variety of characters. She especially excels at capturing the clichéd yet compelling seniors cashing in on staggering equity. Denaker nails the polished and pretentious Lucinda, as well as a vulnerable socialite falling from favor, and even a porn king.
