FLY BY NIGHT

After a slow start, Jill Tanner's sprightly narration won't fail to captivate listeners of this roundabout story of political intrigue and farce. Blunt, precocious tones perfectly suit 12-year-old Mosca Mye--lover of words, truth, and her militant goose, Saracen. The slick, persuasive character of two-bit criminal Eponymous Clent is equally well evoked. Listeners receive a cogent introduction to the numerous characters, as well as to the complicated political situation in the city of Mandelion, one that is stirred up by Mosca and Eponymous at every occasion. Tanner's ability to communicate such a tangled web of intrigue creates an admirable and engaging recording. REDWALL and INKHEART fans will especially enjoy this.
