Jack Garrett offers a relaxed, engaging reading style for a story of the Old West. Lumber baron Gerald Soames is murdered in a wild 1880s Colorado town. As Sheriff Reed Matthews investigates, he stumbles upon a long buried secret that the most prominent men in town will do anything to keep from being revealed. Garrett provides unique voices for the many male characters. The easygoing style he gives to Sheriff Matthews is particularly good. Also, his warm baritone voice eloquently dramatizes the many interviews needed to uncover the secret.
