The debate of whether mothers should work outside the home or simply stay home with their children is neither new nor easy. Bennetts puts the focus on the necessity for women to take into consideration the risks of total financial dependence on men. This book is primarily a collection of stories of various women in a range of circumstances that allow them to stay home with their kids. Bennetts's reading of this abridgment is adequate. Her style is more dramatic than needed, and her voice is a bit strained at times, but the overall presentation is easy to listen to and to follow.
