DOCTOR WHO The Underwater Menace

BBC Audio offers this recording of a four-part "Doctor Who" television show from 1967. Patrick Troughton plays the Doctor (the second). He and his companions find themselves in Atlantis, where they confront a mad scientist who is preparing to destroy the world "because it would be an achievement." Since this is a direct recording from the television show, some narration is required to let listeners know what's happening. Anneke Wills, who plays Polly and who is featured in an interview at the end of the program, performs that duty. The result is a production that is sure to be valuable to fans of the show.
