James Marsters helps make extraordinary events and characters seem a part of ordinary life, even gatherings where Latin is spoken. He uses accents and tone to good effect in conveying the attitudes and personalities of the characters. Maintaining control of the story, he skillfully heightens the suspense as necessary but also ratchets down the intensity when appropriate.
