ABIGAIL'S STORY Women of the Bible

The Old Testament story of Abigail is filled with drama in its account of her marriages, first to an evil man named Nabal and then to the shepherd David, who was to become king of Israel. Ann Burton writes a fictionalized version of this story, adding details of what could have happened. Through her narration Rachel Botchan endears Abigail to the listener. One is immediately brought into this story through the fears and desires of this compelling young woman. Botchan's excellent performance portrays the voices of many characters, making each one realistic and believable. A great story is well done by author and narrator.
