I AM A STAR

Presenting the historical events and the personal histories of the Jewish Holocaust in a meaningful way to elementary-aged students is a continual challenge. I AM A STAR provides this information in a caring, impactful way to readers for whom this may be a first experience with Holocaust literature. Auerbacher intertwines factual information about WWII with the prose and poetry of her own experiences, from her incarceration at Terezin at the age of 7 to the liberation of the camp by the Soviets in 1945.
