Scott Brick is the ideal narrator for this riveting police procedural. Philadelphia detectives Byrne and Balzano are on the trail of a bizarre serial killer who is amassing an alarming body count while mutilating his victims in ways that recall classic fairy tales. Suspects and subplots abound. Brick employs deft vocal inflections, adding accents when appropriate and capturing the cadence and nuances of the razor-sharp dialogue. Brick's voice resonates with tension when reading the various exchanges between the suspects and the engaging detective duo as they work to stop the killer. The plot is taut and creepy.
